A new audio guide to the historic town of Fore, Co. Westmeath, is now available. Covering Fore’s prehistoric and early Christian heritage, its history as a walled town and its famous ‘seven wonders’, the guide accompanies visitors on a 60 minute tour of the town’s many heritage features.

The guide was produced by Abarta Heritage in consultation with the local community and Westmeath County Council, and funded through the Irish Walled Towns Network Interpretation & Events grants scheme in 2025.

Listen to the audio guide HERE or search Discover the Stories of Ireland on your usual podcast platforms.

Accompanying the audio guide is a reconstruction drawing by Sara Nylund of Abarta Heritage, showing the medieval walled town of Fore.
